Employee Benefits Question of the Month

We have an employee who, along with her husband, is enrolled in our health plan. The husband’s employer is being bought out by another company. She is asking whether she can drop him from our plan to enroll in his employer’s plan. Should we allow that, even though we are in the middle of our plan year? Or does the employee have to wait until our next open enrollment period to drop her husband’s coverage?
